For those who have been in IM scene for any amount of time, you have heard how essential it is to have a mailing list to email. Nearly every Internet marketer online will state that without a list you have nothing. But the question is, must you build your own list or can you employ safe-lists If you get a many quality backlinks to your web page you may develop a list with at no cost web site traffic.
Here we are going to answer this question and hopefully give you a clearer idea on how you should run your email marketing.
Let’s go over safe-lists This is a membership web site made up of hundreds or even thousands of other Internet marketers. How it works is you can normally join free of charge or for a fee. Once you become a member you will be receiving emails from other people who are likewise a member of the web site. Mostly, every email you are sent will contain something referred to as a credit link that you will need to click on to earn credits, this is known as a credit based safe-list Here, you can trade your credits for sending out mailings to other members, and when they receive your email they must click the credit link to earn credits and they see your web site when they do.
Keep in mind that these other members are the same as you — they want to email people and receive traffic but they don’t wish to pay for something that another member is telling them about. While you may make a sale here and there by employing these safe-lists, it is not sufficient to make it worth your while.
These safe-lists could be employed for other forms of marketing which are worthwhile. Now, if you want your own email list, safe-lists can help you build it. You can get people’s email addresses by giving stuff away and having people provide you their name and email address in order to receive the free item. In a short time you will have an email list of your own you can email every time you want without having to click safe-list links to get credits.
Which takes us to the question “Do I need my own mailing list?” Yes you do, at least if you are wanting to be successful. To explain how important it is to maintain your own list, on average for each one person you get to sign up to your mailing list you will make approximately one dollar a month from. Now, I know what you’re thinking, “One dollar, yay”, but if you think about it this way 100 people equals $100 and 1,000 people equals $1,000 are you starting to understand how crucial it is now?
Don’t misinterpret me, you are not charging these people $1 a month for being on your mailing list. The way it is works out is, when you have people on your email list they are more apt to purchase from you as long as you give quality, and you should be able to sell 1 product once a month to every 1 person out of 50 who are on your email list. Hence, if you have 50 people on your list and you sell only 1 item worth $50 to someone on your mailing list in a month’s time, that is how you get your average, and when you think about it, it’s not that difficult to do.
You can even mail a different offer to your list every day. And unlike safe-lists that limit your mailings and the number of people you can mail to, you can grow your mailing list as big as you want and email them whenever you want. Plus, you are not limited on how you grow your mailing list, feel free to employ any strategy you want. Safe-lists are only one way to help you get going. You can add a web form on your blog so people can be updated, then you can email them also and your list keeps growing. List building is merely limited by your imagination, you can develop it anywhere. The point is it is endless. I personally designed an excellent list for my personal PSI Seminars host.
So which of the two must you use — safe-lists or your own list? Again, safe-lists are terrific for helping you start your own list, but building your own email list has to be your priority.
